Empowering Mindful Mental Health & Sensory Awareness
Welcome to Mindful Empowered: Transforming Mental Wellness & Sensory Awareness
At Mindful Empowered, we believe that mindfulness and sensory awareness are essential to mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Founded by Michelle Swerin, LPCC, a neurodivergent therapist, instructional designer, and advocate, our mission is to make mindfulness, self-care, and sensory regulation accessible, affirming, and empowering for all—especially for neurodivergent individuals, those with chronic health conditions, and those seeking practical tools for emotional resilience.
Our Purpose & Why It Matters
Mental health is often approached with rigid, one-size-fits-all solutions that don’t consider the unique needs of neurodivergent minds or those living with sensory sensitivities and chronic conditions. At Mindful Empowered, we challenge this by integrating trauma-informed mindfulness, sensory regulation strategies, and creative self-care tools that honor each person’s lived experience.
💙 Mindful Mental Health – How many times have you been told by a doctor, a therapist, a news outlet - have you tried mindfulness? Many of us know there are a myriad of benefits to the practice, but putting it into action and applying it to struggles we have in life is another thing. Mindful Empowered’s mental health tools, meditations, and programs support individuals struggling with ADHD, Autism, OCD, Anxiety, sensory processing challenges, and stress-related conditions. By making mindfulness more inclusive, engaging, and practical, we help people build emotional regulation, resilience, and self-compassion.
🌎 Sensory Saves Lives Initiative – In collaboration with Sensory Space Sisters, we are creating affirming, accessible sensory spaces in communities, workplaces, and public areas. These spaces empower individuals to self-regulate, reduce overwhelm, and improve well-being through thoughtful sensory design.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
